LVJUSD Back-to-School Checklist
July 28, 2025
Dear LVJUSD Parents and Guardians,
The start of a new school year requires a few “to dos” that will ensure we have accurate information for your student and family. With the first day of school just a couple of weeks away, we have included a brief back-to-school checklist as a guide to providing these important informational updates and preparing for the start of the year. Also included are overviews and reminders of our Universal Meals Program, our volunteer process, links to videos that prepare parents and students for key academic transitions, ways to stay connected and informed, and opportunities to work in our district! In the coming days, you will receive other important information from your principals regarding site-specific practices, protocols, and orientation events.
LVJUSD Back-to-School Checklist (What to do!)
Complete Your Annual Student Update(s)
On or after July 30th, you will receive a personalized PowerSchool Annual Student Update email for each of your students from the email address registration@lvjusd.k12.ca.us. Annual student updates include important information regarding parent, guardian, and emergency contacts; medical and health updates; and acknowledgments of parents’ rights and District policies and procedures. Please complete your enrollment updates prior to attending your school’s orientation day if possible. If you need assistance or access to a computer to complete, please visit your school site or our district office. All school offices will be open starting August 5th. While annual student updates can be completed on most smartphones, Chromebooks will be available at school sites and the district office for those in need of a computer to complete.-
Important Note: In an effort to minimize contact duplications and inaccuracies, you will notice that all information fields for parent/guardian and emergency contacts are pre-populated with last year’s information and cannot be edited. At the bottom of the contacts section, you will be able to indicate if you need to make changes to any of your contact information. Answering “yes” will prompt you to call or email your school registrar so that changes can be made with the help of school personnel. We appreciate your patience and understanding with this additional step.

Volunteer Applications
Before volunteering at your school site for the 2025-26 school year, please complete a volunteer application online.-
Applications need to be resubmitted annually and will require an upload of a current TB clearance and driver’s license, even if previously submitted with prior applications.
-
If you want to obtain extended clearance as a volunteer, LiveScan fingerprinting is required. Fingerprinting only needs to be done once during your tenure as a parent in our district. Therefore, if you were fingerprinted last year, you do not need to complete the process again.
-
Applications will be reviewed and approved by site staff starting 8/13 as submitted. Please be patient; applications waiting on fingerprinting clearance can take additional time to process.
