On-Campus Help
GHS ACCESS Periods on Wednesday (11:56-12:26) and Thursday (12:26-1:21) gives students the opportunity to get help from one of their current teachers, work on assignments, or get a head start on homework. Attendance is mandatory and students can change their ACCESS teacher week-to-week depending on what help they need through the 5-Star app on their phone or Chromebook. The Granada Mathematics Department offers Office Hours before school and during lunch. Students can get help from any math teacher listed on the schedule. Follow this link for the current Office Hours schedule.
Peer tutoring for help with Math is at lunch on Wednesdays in Mr. Clifton's room 404. Students can also do fun activities like Kahoots and puzzles to build an interest in math and problem solving skills.
Peer tutoring for help with Spanish is at lunch on Tuesdays in Senora Gracias room P-9. You can get tutoring and also do fun activities to improve your Spanish and learn about the culture. All levels are welcome.
Off-Campus Help
Rincon Library- Free homework help is offered to students of all ages by adult volunteer homework coaches at the Rincon Library Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Wednesdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. The program will run through May 14, except during school breaks. The Homework Help space is equipped with a computer and students may print free of charge for all school assignments. The library will also provide pencils, pens, paper, highlighters, markers, calculators, rulers, glue, flash cards, and resource books. The Livermore Library is offering free online tutoring through Tutor.com. Students can use their Livermore Library Card # or district student ID # to access Tutor.com. Help is also available for SAT/ACT and AP test prep. Follow this link and scroll down to the "Tutoring" heading to learn more and get started.
Las Positas Free High School Math Tutoring Program- If you would like free in person, or virtual math tutoring from college faculty and students, consider signing up for this program. Help is offered for all levels of mathematics, including calculus and SAT/ACT preparation. Tutoring is held Monday-Thursday during the afternoon and evening. Students must submit a concurrent enrollment application to Las Positas before registering for the program. Follow this link for more details, or stop by the Counseling and Career Center.
