Ms. Marilee Solomon

Marilee Solomon grew up in Clayton, California, but had resided in Plano, Texas for 24 years. Recently, she relocated to Livermore. For the last four years, she was a counselor at Mendenhall Middle School and moved to Granada in October of 2022. She has 27 years of educational experience as a teacher, elementary school counselor, middle school counselor, and currently a high school academic counselor. Marilee lives in Livermore and loves attending community events. On most weekends, you will see her at the local Farmer's Market. In her free time, she spends time with her two grown children, at her cabin in Lake Tahoe, and working on her family's olive oil estate. She is grateful for the opportunity to be part of the team in the Counseling and Career Center at Granada and enjoys working with her students and meeting their needs socially and academically.

Mr. Tyler Johnston

Tyler Johnston lived in Livermore for two years as a child and returned in 2012 after living in France, Southern California, and Utah. Prior to joining the GHS school counseling team in 2011, Mr. Johnston worked as a lead behavioral intervention counselor for two years at a non-profit social services agency in San Luis Obispo. His wife is an elementary school teacher in Livermore and they have two young children that attend school in our district. He and his family love Livermore and all that it has to offer. In his free time, Mr. Johnston enjoys surfing, fishing, coaching, practicing mindfulness, and learning about wine. He enjoys connecting with his students and supporting them in working towards their goals.

Mrs. Joni Therrien

Joni Therrien grew up in the Midwest and has lived in Livermore for 8 years. She has enjoyed living in the Bay Area and visiting Tahoe, Napa and Big Sur. Joni has been married to her husband John for 27 years! Together they have 3 young adult children. Her favorite summer pastime is spending time at their cabin in Minnesota. One of her favorite hobbies is volunteering with her therapy dog, Chezney. Chez is a 3-year-old red Mini Australian Labradoodle. Working at Granada has been a wonderful experience! Her favorite part is being able to work with students and help them become the best version of themselves! She loves the variety of her job helping students with college & career planning and social/emotional needs.

Amy was raised near the outskirts of Niagara Falls, Canada. She traveled all over North America playing collegiate and professional softball for Spring Arbor University. Amy brings over 20 years of experience in education. After many years of teaching PE, Health, and coaching varsity sports, she received her M.A. from San Jose State University in Counseling Education. Amy enjoys discovering new recipes, spending time with her family, and coaching her kids' soccer teams. She loves being part of the Granada family and helping her students succeed in reaching their full potential.
