Important AP Exam Administration Information for May 2026

2026 AP Exam Schedule

Review the exam schedule available at cb.org/apexamdates. Early testing or testing at times other than those published by College Board is not permitted under any circumstances. Exam schedules will be sent out by Total Registration the week of April 27th. Refer to exam schedules for testing locations. If you do not receive an emailed copy of your exam schedule, the schedule can be found in your Total Registration account. 

AP Exam Terms and Conditions

Students are encouraged to review the Terms and Conditions before exam day. On exam day, students acknowledge they’ve read and agree to the AP Exam Terms and Conditions. These are available at cb.org/apexamterms. 

College Board reserves the right to decline to score an AP Exam or cancel an AP Exam score when, in its judgment, any of the following occurs: 

  1. Violation of test security policies and procedures
  2. Disclosure of secure test items
  3. Rule Violations
  4. Testing irregularities
  5. Invalid Scores
  6. Identification Discrepancies

Violation of College Board test security policies may also result in a student being prohibited from taking other College Board assessments in the future. 

Type of Exams

Similar to last year, most 2026 AP Exams will be delivered digitally - either fully digital or hybrid digital - through the Bluebook digital testing application on LVJUSD owned chromebooks. The following lists provide an overview of the exam mode by subject. 

Fully Digital AP Exams in Bluebook: Students complete multiple-choice and free-response questions in Bluebook. All responses are automatically submitted at the end of the exam.

Note: For AP Computer Science Principles and AP Seminar there are also components that teachers and/or students must submit or complete through AP Digital Portfolio. 

Hybrid Digital AP Exams in Bluebook: Students complete multiple-choice questions and view free-response questions in Bluebook, and write their free-response answers in paper exam booklets that are returned for scoring.

AP Exams Not Delivered Through Bluebook: The following AP Exams aren’t delivered through Bluebook. They have either audio components or consist solely of portfolio assessments.

  1. AP Art and Design (2D, 3D, Drawing): Students submit all work (three portfolio components) for scoring through the AP Digital Portfolio. 
  2. AP Spanish Language and Culture: Students complete the multiple-choice and written free response sections in paper exam booklets and record spoken free responses within the DAC recording app on the student’s LVJUSD owned chromebook. 

Exam Day & Items to Bring

Students are required to report to the designated testing location listed on their Total Registration exam schedule. The mandatory report time for AM exams is 7:45 AM and 11:45 PM for PM exams. Students with back to back exams should plan for a quick break in-between tests. Please communicate with the AP Coordinators if you are taking a back to back exam and need a school lunch.

  3. Student ID Card (5-Star) or Drivers License/State Identification Card
  4. Calculator, if permitted on exam (refer to calculator policy below)
  5. Multiple #2 Pencils (mechanical pencils are not permitted)
  6. Multiple Blue/Black Pens
  7. A watch (no smartwatches)
  8. Snacks & Water (only permitted during break) 

Students must come to the exam prepared with their CollegeBoard username and password and a fully-charged chromebook & charger. We are unable to troubleshoot logins for students who come unprepared on exam day. 

AP Exam Calculator Policy

All exams that allow students to use a calculator will have a built-in Desmos calculator in the Bluebook testing app. To better align with the needs of each exam, the types of Desmos calculators provided through Bluebook will now vary by exam. Depending on the subject, you’ll have access to graphing, scientific, and/or 4-function (basic) Desmos calculators. The available Desmos calculators by subject are listed in the AP Exam Calculator Policy. 

In addition to the Desmos built-in calculator through Bluebook, students can bring up to 2 permitted handheld calculators to the exam. Calculators will be inspected upon entry into the exam. 

Prohibited Items

The following electronic equipment is prohibited in the exam room and break area:

  1. Phones (collected during check-in process)
  2. Wearable technology of any kind, including smart glasses, smartwatches, or fitness trackers. 
  3. Laptops, tablets, or other digital devices (unless specifically approved for the exam)
  4. Unauthorized Bluetooth devices*
  5. Detachable privacy screens
  6. Portable listening or recording devices, including headphones or earbuds (unless specifically approved for the exam)
  7. Cameras or other photographic equipment
  8. Devices with internet access
  9. Separate timers of any type
  10. Electronic writing instruments, including all stylus pens, Apple pencils, ipad stylus, and smart pens. 
  11. Any other electronic or communication devices

*Bluetooth devices are permitted only in the following scenarios for digital AP Exams: Bluetooth external keyboards for students using tablets, Bluetooth external mice for all digital AP Exams.

Attendance

Students taking a morning exam will be excused from 8:00 am - 12:30 pm. Students taking an afternoon exam will be excused from 11:30 am - EOD. If you wish to excuse your student from classes outside of these times, please complete this form and return it to the Granada Attendance Office by Friday, May 1. Students who are testing with approved accommodations (i.e. extra time) will be excused for the full day.

Prior to your first exam

Prior to your first exam, students must restart their Chromebook to ensure important updates are installed. Once restarted, open the Bluebook App (bottom right corner of your screen before logging in). Once Bluebook has loaded, login using your College Board username and password. 

It is imperative that students complete this step and let the AP Coordinators know immediately if Bluebook is not working. 

Students who have issues logging into Bluebook using their College Board username and password must contact College Board immediately for support. AP Coordinators are unable to troubleshoot College Board username and password issues. This is not something that can be done on exam day. The student help line number is 866-630-9305 and is available Monday–Friday, 4:30 am –5 pm PST.
